1) Update in case against trafficker who allegedly killed 19-year-old San Diego resident in 2020
After a Nov. 18 hearing, we’re still waiting for decisions by the judge on motions filed by the attorney of Brian Alexis Patron Lopez, who is accused of killing a 19-year-old San Diego resident in 2020:
One motion to strike his post-arrest interview from the evidence due to allegations of coercion and abuse by federal authorities.
One motion to dismiss the charges, partly because a potentially key witness has been deported to Mexico.
Four other drug traffickers have taken plea deals for their involvement in the kidnapping and events leading up to the murder of the victim, who stole meth from them.
